An Open Invitation to Dream BIG

Lately I have been feeling a gentle push to dream. It’s a beautiful word… dream. But you know what I’ve found? It’s a scary thing to dream BIG. I always see those words, “dream big” and lately I’ve been putting that into action.
Imagine the last movie you saw that you were actually excited about. Nothing could tear your eyes from that screen, your body waited at the edge of those velvety seats in anticipation. That is what dreaming should feel like. To dream is to get my heart beating faster, igniting the passions inside of me.
The heartbeat of my thoughts lately has been dreaming. In a world where you have to climb a”ladder” in order to be successful, dreaming is being strong enough to believe in yourself and standing up for what you want. It’s feeling the fear and doing it anyways. It’s being stubborn enough not to give up, even on the days when your hard work isn’t being noticed. Being brave enough to step outside of your comfort zone, & courageous enough to think you might actually be capable of changing the world.
The dreams that have been placed in my heart scare me. They scare me because they force me out of my comfort bubble. If my limit was a stone, my dreams continue to make me run to that stone, pick it up, and throw it out further. When I think I’m about to give up, my dreams say “No. Throw the stone out further. You can do this.”
The amazing yet challenging thing about dreaming is that we can’t do it alone. Sometimes I get way too hard-headed and want to do everything myself… I am learning it’s actually a sign of strength, not weakness, to know when you need to ask for help instead of trying to do it all yourself. An ox can only pull so much weight alone, but pair it with one or two more, and there may be no limit on the weight they can pull together. So let’s position ourselves around people who will push us towards our dreams, and let’s be women who encourage others to reaching their goals as well. This life wasn’t meant for mediocracy, and together I believe we can see the seeds placed in our hearts come to fruition.
